SACRED STORY
Within her: the circle of recreation—a sacred space for the tree of life and the work of transformation. Held by the twelve guardians, the sun soul became her home, an eye through which she saw the "I" and made the daily choice to be and to become by following the call to harmony and the sound of her soul's eternal song.
There, in the sanctuary of my soul, I was at peace, rooted in a spaciousness and held in an infinite grace. In the vision I had, there was a Circle of Twelve around my soul and there for every one of us. These guardians of wholeness formed an unbreakable sphere of protection and honor for the journey I was—and we are—making.
“Sacred Story” is a Spirited Life watercolor painting by Virginia artist Dawn Richerson that is an exploration of how I had come to experience my inner spiritual foundation, despite the stories that had spun around me and inside me for decades. I rarely paint with watercolor, but it felt important to do so for this painting.
