He looked out from the causeway, seeing in the distance the shadow of his persistent past: a faint promise, a beginning on a distant shore yet to be revealed. The cause was clear and yet he could not yet break free from it, for littered here among the ruin was the recreation and a chorus ever rising.
Giant was his heart, gentle and raw where it bore the wounding that superseded time and space and all the grandeur. She had known it too, and blown in upon this wind was all the evidence there before her. Caught up in a true blue remembrance, still she saw his strength and knew he would make his way.
