On her drowning day, storms raged overhead but the storm in her was laid to rest. Overcome by the one who roamed the coastal plains, she let the cold torrent rain down on her.
Just before she last closed her eyes she saw reflected in the skies, larger part of her and, beyond, a sailing ship reminiscent of the one that appeared above Saint Ciarán’s monastery.
Slipping fast, she dreamed of a sailor who came to greet her as she rose through sinking sun, leaving ghost lands beneath these Southern skies alive, her electric body floating there below.
