FOR THE LOVE OF THIS LIFE
The leaf rested on the ground, still moist from a gentle Irish rain. It seemed to convey a message of comfort and reassurance, bearing witness to all things green and growing. Emanating a palpable love of this life, the heart-shaped leaf was undeterred by all the ways life had marked it.
Knowing now there was no need for pretense or striving toward perfection, for all was well as it was, as it had been, as it evermore would be, she walked deeper into the Irish wood and back to the love of this life.
