On Autumn days when I drove from my home in Ireland to the coast in the West of Ireland, I would take the long way home, cutting through the lonely Curlew Mountains and winding past Lough Gara. Even on overcast days, there was a certain sheen—a fine golden glow as if the land had been touched gently by the hand of God.
This familiar scene brought peace to my heart and a knowing that all that was planted in me was held in the grace of the everyday, warmed by the same sun that shown upon these golden fields in the fading light of day and the change of the seasons.
