JOURNEY TO SACRED WHOLENESS: A Testimony of Healing & Faith
Memoir / Life Journeys / Healing Streams Series
DESCRIPTION
Journey to Sacred Wholeness is a memoir of healing and faith written 30 years ago. I was thirty years into a difficult healing journey to return to a state of integration and wholeness. While I would share the story differently now and have a broader perspective, particularly with regard to the spiritual root of my difficult life journey, this story is told as I lived it and remains available because I believe there is value in any one and all of us sharing from within our experience.
This is the story of the author's quest to rebuild a life from disconnected scraps of self by integrating disparate parts into a whole. It is told by Little Girl Lost, Little Dawn, The Innocent, Crazy Dawn, Angry Dawn, and Everybody's Girl—the six splintered selves that made the journey from chaos within to the birth of a dancing star. The author discovers hope, healing, and harmony hidden in plain sight, recovering a sacred truth.
"What was that truth? It was that my very soul was, in fact, inseparable from its Source and alive eternally. So this is my story. I offer it up, with all of my mis-steps and mis-takes, as a testimony of healing and grace."
In this gripping account, the author captures firsthand accounts of how each facet of her personality learned first to be and then to come together. Each part came to understand the need to let go of her tight-fisted clutch on who she saw herself to be, then to trust and finally to discover the breath of new life and celebrate the joy of a new dawn.
Richerson traces these five movements and describes the events that birthed the entrenched parts and her healing experience. Brutally honest and bold in its examination of self, this story is told within the context of life circumstances and the greater journey of the soul through time. The book includes poetry and artwork created by the alter identities that were the author's only experience of self from age three through her early 20s.
Originally published under the title Waterfall Rain, this memoir is above all else a return to the deep knowing that regardless of outer appearances, "Together, we are one." Note that this book is not recommended for anyone under 18 or for those who are not connected with a trusted personal advisor.
