Long had they watched over the holy isle and the seas beyond, awaiting the arrival of the three who came by sea. On the day the three had dared to traverse the open seas, there came a sudden storm.
The three fought against the wild, unruly waves but it was Michael who rowed the boat ashore that day. Later, tracing the contour of the guardian of this sacred land, they would build the stone pathway that led into the heart of the rock they would name for the angel who had provided safe passage.
