The two, two minutes before they knew,
when all was green and yellow, gold and blue,
stood solid and still, restless and real,
on the edge of breaking down or breaking through.

Between them moved the angel of life,
sweeping away the bitter taste of strife,
cutting through all pain that they might heal,
spreading generous joy with love’s palette knife.

The two, two minutes before they knew, 
were strong in the knowing that I am you,
you are me, that a new way to see
begins with seeing there’s nothing left to do.

Within them stirred a recognition 
that ignited hope, imagination,
cooled the flames of a burning fever,
forged a river of boundless integration.

The two, two minutes before they knew, 
were not asking what or how or who
would meet them on the way tomorrow.
They lived in the moment, in this one day.

Beneath them, beyond them, beside them, too, 
signs of life sprung up; a green wildness grew—
the world held in perfect harmony, 
alive with wonder: behold, all things made new.

had no need to question sweet residue
that fell like manna from the heavens.
Simply, they received and entered into
