ALL THAT WOULD BE FREE — A Soul Story from Dawn
Tentatively, she dances on the wave, held gently by the wisdom of the red walrus. From the opposite shore he observes with tired eyes all the ways he and she have caged or killed the golden bird through time. In his mind's eye he swims in a sea of confusion and every door is shut. Even still, he feels himself dancing alongside with every beat of his heart, but it seems a distant dream.
With the eyes of the heart, he envisions some future where he has somehow walked along the serpent's skin and survived the wave that might have rendered them both extinct, relics again lost to the blood-stained waters of a time no one remembered. There is a bridge. And an open door. The thirsty horse drinks of the waters of this life and knows only that all is well and there is grace enough for the journey, whichever way he travels on.
