LEAP TO LIBERTY: Born Free, Meant to Live Free
This was her leap to liberty, a stretch of the imagination to say it again: Yes, yes! I believe in fairies. I do. I do. I do!"—and then to listen for the sound of flowers waving their warm welcome and to look for the Green Mother rising from the woodland wonderland to welcome her home. She was a rabbit, timid perhaps and tainted by those who would hold her free spirit captive to some supposed convention; yet, nothing could take true innocence. She was created free, born free, meant to live free and she would make this leap to liberty.
What is your essential story of life?
What is alive in you?
This Heart of America / Soul of Place painting was inspired by an experience and scene at Falling Creek Park in Bedford, Virginia. It is part of the Give Me Liberty! series of Bedford scenes and the Blue Ridge Blessings Collection of paintings by Virginia artist Dawn Richerson. See Original Paintings from this collection.
I'll meet you on the way!
