I came across seven bottle caps, several from Corona beer bottles, on my stroll through the apartment complex parking lot. Even in the grit and gravel of this life, there is beauty. In the rusted things discarded and left as litter on the ground, there is something to be reclaimed, reordered and rearranged, repurposed or recycled and brought into harmony.
The star and the coppery colors of Earth on the shiny caps were reminders of what matters most. Day by day, let us return to this good Earth not just our leftovers but the whole of our hearts. In gratitude, let us remember we belong to her and she has been entrusted to us. This is something to remember in the living of these days.
We may be sheltering in place or on “lockdown” but I choose freedom. I choose love. I choose life and art, beauty and truth, which can be found in the everyday and in the ordinary, whatever our current circumstance.
What is your essential story of life? What is alive in you?
I hope this image has sparked a reconnection and remembrance for you today. I believe there is beauty to be found right here, right now, all around you and right there within you. I'll meet you on the way! 🧡 Dawn
